Lauvaun B. Curtis 1905-1990 attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He was a second generation Arizonan who did landscape painting in the early 1930s. He was stationed as an inspector on Route 66 where he worked as an entomologist with the Arizona Commission of Agriculture from 1929.He was a friend and painting companion with Pete Martinez, Maynard Dixon, Ray Strang and studied watercolor painting with Gerry Peirce
