Burntwater
Burntwater is a sparsely populated area of the Navajo reservation in Arizona’s Apache County near Wide Ruins and Pine Springs. The weavers near the Burntwater Trading Post (which closed in 1983) began creating a distinctive rug style in the early 1970s, characterized by bordered central designs similar to those seen in modern Toadlena/Two Grey Hills and Ganado rugs, woven in striking bright pastel vegetal colors.
