Star Liana York - Maximus

"The eagle used as a model for this sculpture is a permanent resident of the Wildlife Center in Espanola, NM, only twenty minutes from our ranch. "Max" was brought to the sanctuary twelve years ago with shotgun injuries. He lost part of his right wing and several toes, but was able to be saved. He was too handicapped to be returned to the wild, so remains at the Wildlife Center as an "eagle ambassador." I donned him "Maximus", and in this sculpture gave him back the appendages he lost." - Star York
